Where from I download windows server 2008 R2 standard edition with 32 bit

  • This has nothing to do with 32/64 bit, this is standard logic for adding a second domain controller, when the new DC is a later version of software compared to your current domain. I suggest you read the correct Microsoft documentation on domain controllers and domains and forests as you don't want to get this wrong....

  • If you are introducing a Windows Server 2008 R2 into a domain with older Domain Controllers, you need to prepare the forest. Have a look here - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731728(v=WS.10).aspx

  • If your current DC is 32 bit then run the 32 bit version \support\adprep\adprep32 located on your 2008 R2 installation media.

  • Do you mean trial or full version?

Note that this forum is for Small Business Server.

  • :-) Whoops, I missed the 32 bit :-)

If you need 2008, and 32 bit, then you need Server 2008, not Server 2008 R2. Server 2008 was the final 32-bit server edition produced.

If you need 32-bit bit because you have old hardware then you probably need to upgrade your hardware.

  • Full version,

Becaue just now I have purchased the windows server 2008 R2 standard edition with 64 bit,

But whie using 64 bit I am not able to create additional domain controller (ADC) in my existing active directory domain environment.

It is giving a message you must first prpare the forest using addprep /forestprep

    Pleas help?
