    Hi,

Are you looking in the SCCM Admin Console? The clients are probably assigned by the Active Directory System Discovery which detects the client in AD and Assings it to the correct site using the Site Boundaries.

It could also be because you extended your AD schema to include the SCCM site code when installing SCCM thus any computer object in AD will automatically get assigned your site code before the client is even installed.

That is not an accurate statement at all. Schema extensions have nothing to do with client assignment. Auto-Client assignment is based strictly on defined boundaries and is performed at various times including, as Jorgen pointed out, during AD System Discovery.
