dpm disk duplicates?

hello,
i have two disk of 1TB each other...
when i go to Management ---> disk (i see my two disk correctly)
if i see "protected data source on this disk", in disk 1 and in disk 2 i see the same things
example: AD system state, and Exchange databases are in the two disk....
if i go to protection and i count my space allocated, gives a total of 1TB but in management --> disks.... say that i have allocated 1,8 TB
It looks like the two disks are dupolicating the data...
i have dpm 2010 in windows server 2008 R2 64 bits with 2gb RAM. It is NOT a virtual machine.
help!!
thanks

Hi,
DPM will place the replica volume for a data source on one disk, and place the recovery point volume on a seperate disk for performance reasons. The "protected data source on this disk" shown for each DPM disk does not differentiate between a replica volume and a recovery point volume, so that is why it is showing on both disks.

Hi,
Please download and run this powershell script: http://blogs.technet.com/b/dpm/archive/2010/06/05/space-needed-to-migrate-a-disk.aspx
It will shows for each datasource what disk # the replica and recovery point volumes are on. In the output, just count the volumes that are physically located on that disk, so for migrating disk-1 - just count the volumes that are on that disk. For Disk-2, just count the volumes that are on disk2. If you don't do that, you will get double the space because the script is designed to show the disk space required to migrate to a new disk which always migrates both replica and RP volumes regardless of what disks they reside on.
So in my example below, I would only count volumes with <count in front of it.
PS C:\Program Files\Microsoft DPM\DPM\bin> space-needed-to-migrate-a-disk.PS1
MigrateSpaceNeeded v1.5 evaluating 5 DPM disks...

Recovery volume size - 37.66 GB - Recovey on Disk 5N1-MB2 on computer MJLC-E14-1.nwtraders.com
Replica volume Size - 11.01 GB - Replica on Disk 3 <count
Recovery volume size - 3.62 GB - Recovey on Disk 2
Recovery volume size - 8.08 GB - Recovey on Disk 2etc etc.
Those totals should be accurate for allocated disk space used by DPM.
