Hi,
I'm trying to remove an Exchange Database that has a SystemMailbox{XXXXXXXX} on it. How do I go about deleting this DB, do I have to move the SystemMailbox or delete it?
There are no arbitraion mailboxes or any other mailboxes on this DB.
Thanks in advance.

lunedì 27 febbraio 2012 10:41No I'm not removing my last exchange mailbox server, I need to remove one DB on one of many Exchange 2010 servers I have.

The reason I can't delete the DB is that there is a SystemMailbox{xxxx} on the DB, what do I do with this SystemMailbox?

Well if I don't need this database than I wouldn't worry about the System Mailbox.
There is another way to delete the database, from adsiedit.msc

lunedì 27 febbraio 2012 11:11Using ADSI edit to delete a DB from Exchange 2010 seems to be the solution every one suggests however I feel this shouldn't be the solution, everyone should be able to delete a DB via the EMA or Powershell. Going down the ADSI edit route seems to be a bit brutal just to delete a DB but that's just me.
