Allowing relay for SAP Application
Allowing relay for SAP Application
- Hellow,
I have hub/transport server configured on 2 server with NLB. I have to allow SAP application to send emails to users who register on their website. Internal to internal is working fine, if the user is local and he gives his local email address it works fine, but when user from outside give hotmail/yahoo address it doesn't work and the user doesn't get email from us. When i make an entry in accepted domains and allow * for external relay it works fine but it is exposing my server to open relay. How can i allow emails to be send to external email server without making my server open relay.

- You need to open the relay for the application. This is how you do it.
1. Start the Exchange Management Console.
2. Browse to Microsoft Exchange > Server Configuration > Hub Transport.
3. Select the Hub Transport server through which you would like to allow another system to relay mail.
4. From the Actions pane, choose New Receive Connector.
5. On the first page of the New SMTP Receive Connector wizard, type a name for the connector and choose the connector’s intended use. In this case, choose Custom
6. Choose Next.

Allowing application servers to relay off Exchange Server 2007
In this case, if the SAP application cant authenticate, then set restrictions on the new receive connector to the ip address of the SAP server. Hi,
Two thing is required in this situation.
1: Set Anonymous access check mark enable on receive connector which have port 25 (Its come default when install HUB role)
2: Create one new receive connector and keep "exchange servers" permission group in Group tab
