Lync Integration in Outlook 2010 Missing

I have been using Outlook 2010 and Lync on my PC for quite some time and have what I assume is a healthy environment supporting 400 users. Recently we have seen an issue popping up on PC's where for no apparent reason integration between Lynch and Outlook 2010 goes missing. Calendar and presence information is still working, but the ability to IM Reply or see the presence indicator in Outlook next to people's name is gone.
You can read their contact card and see photo's, just no program type integration. If you try ti IM a person it says "To use this feature, sign on to an instant messaging program".
We have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Lync and also removing users roaming profile.
We cannot find a fix and I could use some help.

Hi,Daniel,
Would you please tell us if you have done some changes involve Exchange or Lync server?
Here are some suggestions:
1)Please check the all the reuqired add-ins in outlook as Matt advised.
2)Please try to uninstall outlook, reboot computer and reinstall outlook again to see if it works
2)Please make sure you have outlook and Lync client are fully patched.
Lync client updates http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2684739
Outlook updates http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2553248
3)If you are using outlook 2010 64 bit Please copy everything that is present in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IM Providers into
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\IM Providers then reboot the computer.
4)Here is an old thread with similar sceanrio just for your reference.
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ta/office2010/thread/2d89b057-99c3-492c-8f43-0a4f1216e2aa
If still no luck please elaborate more on your productions version and enable Lync logging tool, reproduce the issue and use snooper to analyze the uccapilog file to get more specific information.

Unfortunately I am not making any progress. See replies for your suggestions. Also I have the exact symptoms of the old thread. Where the "display online status next to name" field in Outlook Options - Contacts is greyed out. All Lync functions appear grayed out (like respond with IM). There is NO presence skittle at all...it's not there but grey....just not there anymore.
Seeing how we have an environment with over 400 users in Lync and Outlook 2010 I am highly suspect of any global config issue with Lync or Exchange being the culprit. I would say it has to be something on the workstation. To rule out any profile issues I deleted my mail profile entireley and recreated. Also I deleted my roaming user profile AND the server copy to start afresh.
1. My ucaddin.dll is installed and I can click the New Online Meeting but I get an error: "Lync must be running and signed in before working with online meetings. In addition, its privilege must be the same as Outlook". This behavior has led me to some other forums but nothing is working.
2. Try uninstall of Lync and Outlook with no results. All patches installed.
3. Lync is correctly listed in both this reg keys.
4. Good info with similar symptoms but no fix.
I think I may have found the issue but dont know how to troulbeshoot or fix. My oulook DOES NOT have the ocoffice.dll addin loaded. And I cannot seem to add it. That's the only difference I can find between me and a functioning machine.

Hi Daniel,
Can the affected users see the UC integration in OWA, i.e. is this an Outlook-only issue?
Rory.

ocoffice.dll is labeled as "Conversation History Add-in for Microsoft Lync 2010" with a default location of "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync\ocoffice.dll" (on a Windows 7 32bit machine).
Did your Outlook version change by chance? Is your Lync client configured to use Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Outlook for the Personal information manager (in the Lync options)?

Hi,Daniel,
Any updates here?
Actually, the old thread owner has solved his issue by downloading and installing windows messenger(see the bottom of that thread).Have you tried that solution either?
How did you reinstall outlook?Did you remove the old files and restart your computer when you uninstall your outlook and reinstall it?
Again, please tell more about your OS version and other products version number(such as outlook) and compare them on your computer and the working computer.

mercoledì 26 settembre 2012 20:26Daniel, I recently had the same issue with some of my users. The Online Meeting option was also missing. In Outlook 2010, I went to File > Options > Add-ins > Manage Drop Down (at the bottom) > Disabled Items. I selected my Lync add-ins and enabled them.
