Clicking on link for Word document redirects to sharepoint.microsoft.com

I have a link in Sharepoint like : http://appriver3651000459.sharepoint.com/sites/SM/SalesTools/SalesGuide.docx.
When the user clicks on such link, he is redirected to http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/. I think this url is opened within Word as it shows W in top left corner of blue title area, alongwith the url as http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/. After closing this page twice, the document shows in Word. Do you know what may be the reason of this redirection? This happens only on some computers.

Hi,
Unfortunately, this forum is for BPOS customers using SharePoint 2007 and the address that you have posted seems to be for either an on-premise install of SharePoint or Office 365. I have seen redirect issues be resolved by adding https://*.sharepoint.com to your trusted sites. If adding that information to the trusted sites does not work for you, you will need to post your question either in the SharePoint on-premise forums or the Office 365 forums.
