    i am in process of building private cloud for my college project ,i want to know the hardware and software requirement for Hyper V ?

    Hi,

    you need one of the following products:

    • Windows Server 2008 (except Web and Foundation edition)
    • Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008
    • Windows Server 2008 R2 (except Web and Foundation edition)
    • Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2

    For virtualization my personal favorite is Hyper-V Server. Because for virtualization isn't a need for a full Windows Server in most cases Hyper-V-only will fit the requirements.

    To be able to run Hyper-V, your hardware must have a processor that support hardware virtualization and DEP (Data Execution Prevention) or else the hypervisor won`t be able to start and run.
