    I have been able to get PHP5 installed server 2008r2 fine but I have been battling sql server 08r2 to get it working with a PHP application generally.

    I have used localhost and that seems to be OK with a native connect, but the user/password seem off

    so I can create an account on the server if needed but that is not what I was expecting to need

    for the record on Linux using MySQL was a tad more straightforward

    mysqladmin
    create database gameforum;
    grant all on gameforum identified by "username" password "password";
    quit;

    Windows MVP 2010-11, XP, Vista, 7. Expanding into Windows Server 2008 R2, SQL Server, SharePoint, Cloud, Virtualization etc. etc.
