    Hello,

Currently our end users are using Tata Photon+ cards on laptops running with WinXP. Card works fine although they don’t have admin rights to laptop. We are in the process of migration to Win7 and found some issue with Tata Photon+ on Win7. Users are unable to run dialer s/w without admin rights. Can you please advise what might be the reason for the same.

    Regards,

    Vijay

If this is something that is critical for your users I would advise contacting the vendor and getting a Windows 7 certified version.

Is it a hard error? Or a UAC prompt?

    Hi,

Try to temporary disable UAC for test:

    Hi,

The security behavior has enhanced on Windows 7.

UAC is a security component that enables users to perform common tasks as non-administrators, and as administrators without having to switch users, log off, or use Run As. User accounts that are members of the local Administrators group run most applications as a standard user. By separating user and administrator functions, UAC helps users move toward using standard user rights by default.

Thus when you perform any operations with standard user, the UAC will be prompt.

Try to go to control panel\user accounts\User Account Control Settings, set the notify to “Never Notify” for test.
