did my pc magically replicate a pen for use?

I use a run of the mill gaming grade PC for my workstation. See the gaming site for hardware specifics. Every game review has the machine specs included.
anyway i noticed a clicks applet hiding on the system tray bar and I was wondering how could this be as my old LCD is not a touch screen. I use a conventional keyboard and mouse like world+dog
Must be one of the SDKs I installed last week to support Visual Studio. The new surface SDK is the most recent one I installed, now that does have a touch screen.
Seem everything is now being abstracted or virtualized.
