Hello,
Some have said that installing older version of the Bluetooth software and letting it upgrade it self has proven to be sucessful for them getting Bluetooth devices working. Also please check out the Sticky Thread for some tips on driver install. Maybe there is something in the tips that you ahve not tried yet.
Regards,

We would prefer trying to find out what the issue is. Please use the send feedback tool if you can or post via the Beta news groups so we can do more investigation. We will need to turn on trace logging for Bluetooth to investigate.
Thanks!!

giovedì 11 giugno 2009 18:22although im currently on X86 (build 7100) i also had similar problems getting my Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to work RF-BTKB2/RF-BTMSE2
i got around this issue of installing by downloading the vista drivers and running the setup under an administrator account in compatability mode.
also after 2+ minutes of inactivity (using the RF Bluetooth Dongle) the mouse and keyboard will sleep and can only resume by unplugging and reinserting the bluetooth dongle
sometimes it wont sleep after longer periods of inactivity (2-3 hours) and its a recurring problem. -

lunedì 20 luglio 2009 19:14is anyone still having this problem on latest builds of Windows 7? We have repeatedly installed and used this model of rocketfish keyboard without any problems. Please reply with very detailed steps (what window titles, error messages, and anything else you're seeing) if it fails still.
Thanks!

giovedì 23 luglio 2009 21:35Yes, I am still having this problem. I switched over from Windows 7 32-bit to 64-bit and I can't use my keyboard. I press the connect button on the keyboard, then go to add device and it finds the keyboard. It finds it as either "Rocketfish Bluetooth Keyboard" or just "Bluetooth Keyboard", which seems to be random. When I got to connect it just says "Connecting to device.." and sits there, eventually the keyboard stops being discoverable. Even though it stays at that, the window does not lock up, I can click cancel and immediately close it at any time. Basically it finds the keyboard, but will not connect. I have tried removing the drivers, installing the old ones from the cd, and letting it upgrade and it always says that the drivers I have are current. I also have tried downloading the latest drivers from the broadcom site and still nothing. Mouse and other bluetooth (like cell phones) work just fine. I even tried uninstalling, removing, rebooting, then using a different usb port and still nothing.

venerdì 24 luglio 2009 13:40Ok, I did find something interesting. It appears that something in windows is not allowing this keyboard to sync up. For example, I can use the keyboard to enter my bios setup on boot, which I think is utilizing the usb keyboard option. When windows is running it won't let me use the manual pairing button that is on the dongle, i'm guessing that windows basically takes over the device and does not allow it. So I tried unplugging the dongle and plugging it back in. For the first few seconds, the keyboard works, then stops. It's almost like the keyboard begins to work, then windows says "wait a minute, that's not supposed to work", and disables it. I don't know if this is helpful to solving my problem or not. I just tried calling rocketfish support, and of course got absolutely nowhere. I would really like to know what Todd Schiele is doing to get this to work on 64-bit, cause this is really frustrating.

venerdì 24 luglio 2009 14:05Also, this just happened to me. I uninstalled the drivers again, rebooted, then reinstalled. I installed the latest drivers from the broadcom website, it says on the page they should work for Windows 7 RC, although it doesn't say 32 or 64 bit. When the drivers got done, a baloon appeared that said the drivers failed to install. I clicked the baloon and it said the following:
device driver software was not successfully installed
bluetooth peripheral device
Not plugged in
I then looked in the device manager and did not see any exclamation points next to anything. I remember before there was an exclamation point next to the "bluetooth peripheral device", it said the drivers were not properly signed. Now it doesn't say that at all, but the keyboard still wont sync. Is there a manual way to force it to sync, or a way that I can just get windows to let me use the connect button on the dongle to make it work. I just want to use my keyboard. -
martedì 28 luglio 2009 21:34I've tried everything. Vista compatibility mode, run as administrator. I wish someone would share how they've gotten this keyboard to work.

When you go to add a device, right click on the keyboard icon and click on properties. in the services tab check the box that says Drivers for keyboard, mice, etc (HID)
The keyboard will install automatically.- Proposto come risposta TitanMark domenica 30 agosto 2009 21:36

martedì 18 agosto 2009 02:29I had the same problem; Windows 7 RC. The fix worked for me too. MSFT, hope you can fix the problem for future folks. Thank goodness for the internet and help forums! Without it, I would have been without a neat keyboard and Best Buy would have had a return. Still, would be nicer if it "just worked."

giovedì 27 agosto 2009 00:35Thank you so much! It totally worked for me, too... so glad I don't have separate mice for my Mac and Windows systems!

domenica 30 agosto 2009 21:38KAMOTEQ, u are AWESOME!! Tec support said the keyboard was incompatible with 64 bit Vista. Just a way to blow me off. Your solution solved the problem immediately. Now can you get my iPhone to connect?

Worked for me as well. I just bought this Rocketfish keyboard and mouse at Bestbuy and like another I was about to return it until I saw this thread. I have also read about random disconnect problems but hopefully I will find out about those in the next couple of days.

mercoledì 14 ottobre 2009 04:13This indeed was the critical step. I tried to right click on properties, didn't see anything come up right away, and then closed just before I saw the check box for HID appear. This time I did that and waited. Check box appeared and I checked it. Solved the problem, typing on keyboard right now!

lunedì 26 ottobre 2009 08:53Yup, that's what I needed here as well. Just installed Windows 7 64-bit and didn't have a keyboard or mouse to setup my user account. Had to track down a PS/2 keyboard and soft reset my PC so that I could use it. Checking off the service for both the keyboard and mouse allowed Windows to automatically install them. Both are now working just fine.

domenica 15 novembre 2009 23:45I had already tried KAMOTEQ 's fix with no luck before I found this forum - but it was my 2nd or 3rd attempt to set it up. Just go to Device Manager and remove all installs of 'HID keyboard device' then follow the steps.

Here is how you solve the problem, I figure it out and it works.
--First of all, you have install the bluetooth driver.
--Click the bluetooth, and Add a Device
--You suppose see a RocketFish Keyboard appeared
--Click the property on RocketFish Keyboard
--You would see Service, check the BOX on "Driver for Keyboard, mice and etc(HID)
You are good to go if you followed the steps above. Good Luck!- Proposto come risposta Emilio del Rasso mercoledì 2 dicembre 2009 05:53

giovedì 10 dicembre 2009 01:39AWESOME!!!! The only thing I would add is that once the 'fix' is done 'check the BOX on "Driver for Keyboard, mice and etc(HID)' you do not have to do anything else. Maybe I did not read between the lines well enough but I thought I still had to install the keyboard. TURNS OUT...once this is done...so are you!Jody

martedì 26 gennaio 2010 20:55Thank You, Shaboogamoo & Kamoteq, the combination of the two of you did the trick. I thought I was going to have to buy a new keyboard. I'm so glad that I dont. Rocketfish may not be the gretest company, but this one product I really love.
Thanks again Woo Hoo! -

Hopefully this solution will help all, once you have the driver installed using you standard USB mouse click on the “Show hidden Icons” tab in the lower right hand corner then select the Bluetooth Icon and add a device. From that point I think all of you should have it from there. I had the same problems all of you had, but via determination and just stumbling over the show hidden icons and Bluetooth symbol that is about it. Good luck!

Worked Great for my:
R/F bluetooth Dongle, Targus Mini Bluetooth Mouse, R/f Keyboard.
on Another Note:
I noticed once when i pushed the connect button on the dongle, that windows installed a bunch more HID devices. I am wondering that maybe windows isnt installing all the capabilities for this bluetooth dongle (as is perhaps windows just sees it as a bluetooth gateway for phones and printers and not an HID device controller)
Thanks KAMOTEQ!

Hi! Just stumbled across this thread because I'm researching the same problem; connecting a BT Rocketfish Keyboard & Mouse combo to a Dell\Alienware desktop running Windows 7. However, when I view the Services tab on the Keyboard or Mouse's properties window nothing is listed. I get the rotating circle that show's she's thinking about displaying somehthing but i get no love.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

When you select add new bluetooth device... right click on the keyboard and go to the "Services" tab.
Make sure the box is checked that says "Drivers for keyboard and mice, HID ETC."
Thats how I resolved my problem. Hope that helps

Also push the connect button on bottom of keyboard and I think you will see the keyboard appear in the new devices box.
Then rt-click it, properties, services and check the box and it should work.

My friend, i have both, the bluetooth mouse and keyboard here that your talking about. and the keyboard was a struggle to pair with the windows 7 64 bit.... i think i spent 2 days working with it. and i didnt try anything special, i just kept trying to pair it, and unplugging the dongle and working with it... and after a while. it worked... Lately though, i have been looking into getting a wired mouse and keyboard becuase of the delays and sleep time i have with my current keyboard(rocketfish). supposidly there is a way around the delays but it disables all the options on your keyboard. IE the media buttons, and web browsing features. and my mouse keeps dieing off too....
Also, after researching these products more, i found that alot of people experienced similar problems with them, Being delays and mouse failure. Even with fresh batteries and all. The products werent meant to be used long term(2-3 years) for extensive use... I dont know about you but i thinki paid 100 bucks for the pair so thats only 25 bucks a year... Which is kinda silly considering i coulda got a better one that wont cough up on me.
If anyone reading this finds a good wireless keyboard that doesnt delay, and a mouth that doesnt delay...(my biggest concern). Please mention it. i am very interested in.
