Firewire/ memory

I have Win 7 64 bit with a sandy bridge i5 processor with 8 g ram that I use for recording music. For some reason my computer just freezes up and wont move -- hard drive light stays solid. I just had hard drive checked and replaced the ram. Tech said I had a bad sector on one of the modules. Nevertheless, the problem continues. I have a texas instruments firewire card that powers my firestudio interface and looked at some of the other post about changing the drives to legacy but that still does not solve the problem. The computer acts ok for a little while and then the hard drive light (indicates when I can expect freezes) stays on. It seems that since I changed from a usb interface to the firewire my computer has never been the same. The computer rarely goes on line and the only thing it is for is recording music.
For a loss of ideas

Hi,
I suggest testing the issue in Safe Mode or Clean Boot environment.
In addition, please check if there is any error message in Event Viewer. If so, please paste it here to clear the root cause of issue.Kim Zhou
