Answered Problem with Windows Intune Monitoring Update

Is anyone aware of the recent update of the Windows Intune Monitoring agent? My Intune Management Console is redilled with Update errors because with all of clients this update seems to produce the following error:
Windows Intune Monitoring Agent (Errorcode: 0x80070643)

If anything is known about this please give me some pointers as i'm unaware if this problem will prevent the Monitoring agent from starting.

    Kind regards,

    Philipp

We are also having the same issue. Just about all of our clients show errors installing the "windows intune monitoring agent".

I have had the same problem and am havine the same problem with an update for InTune Endpoint Protection. After un-installing all of the InTune components, re-booting the pc and appling the folling instructions I was able to complete the install.

    Hello Terry,

Thank you for the logs. It looks like a piece of Windows Security Essentials is not releasing access to some files to allow the installation of Windows Intune Endpoint Protection.

Follow the steps below to clean up the remains of the Windows Security Essentials.

    1. Open Internet Explorer and browse to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2435760.

    2. Scroll down the page and click the Microsoft Fix it icon (labeled Microsoft Fix it 50535).

    3. Choose to Run the application.

    4. Once the installer starts, click the I Agree checkbox, then click Next.

    5. The installer will begin. Click Yes to any UAC prompts that may appear.

    6. Once the installer completes, click the Close button to finish. Microsoft Security Essentials should now be uninstalled.

    7. Reboot the computer and try to install Windows Intune Endpoint Protection again

Let me know if this corrects the issue.

    Thank you,

Thanks for the info TLSTAX, but the problem is for the Windows Intune Monitoring agent, not the Endpoint Protection. It seems though that rebooting the client will provide a solution, but i haven't been able to actually test that on hand.

I was just able to test the solution of restarting the client and retrying the installation and yes that works. Thanks for the help guys.

Hi Philipp--Is this a fresh install, or an upgrade?

I ran into this issue myself trying to get the update applied to multiple workstations.

The fix I discovered was that the update tries to stop the 'HealthService.exe' service but is unable to. If you stop the process manually using Task Manager right before you run the update, it should process with no issue.

    Hope this helps!
