Group Policy not applied

In have a group policy on a W2K8R2 domain. It applies to W2K8R2 servers ok. I've added 2 Windows Server 8 beta servers to the same OU and group.
In Windows Firewall with Advanced Security I see "For your security, some settings are controlled by Group Policy", however none of the settings have been applied. I'm using the "Network/Network Connections/Windows Firewall/Domain Profile" administrative template settings in the W2K8R2 domain. Both the forest and the domain are at W2K8R2 Functionality Level.
Performing a gpupdate /force on the Win 8 servers has no effect.

Hi,
Generally, we configure the Group Policy from the newest version of Windows to avoid compatibility issue.
Please try to configure the Group Policy from Windows Server 8 Beta to check if the Group Policy settings can be applied to all the clients and servers in your domain.

venerdì 11 maggio 2012 06:20So Arthur, are you saying that all organisations with a Windows Server 2008 R2 domain, must recreate all their group policies on a Windows Server 2012 server if they wish to add Windows Server 2012 as member servers?

Hi Stephen,
Generally, new Windows edition include some new Group Policy settings which cannot be recognized by the old Windows editions, so it is better to configure Group Policy in the new Windows edition. It doesn’t need to recreate all the GPOs. You may export and import to your new Windows edition.
If the above troubleshooting suggestions cannot work, please also refer to the following Microsoft TechNet article for how to troubleshoot this issue.
