Answered Creating New VM

    hello i have an issue when  creting any VM from SCVMM , the name of VM become like SCVMM then the name , for example VM Name is SCCM when it created become as SCVMM SCCM. can i change this.

    Do you create it from a template, or a new VM with a blank disk?

    You are able to specify the name for the VM when it`s visible in SCVMM, and also to specify the name within the guest OS if you specify this on the OS profile.

    However, I would recommend you to use the same name in both places.

    If you take a look at the VMs in the Failover Cluster Manager, each VM that has been created through SCVMM will have a prefix with "SCVMM NameOnYourVM". Just to show the administrator where they were created.
