    Hello everyone,
for now im going to rest a bit my worried mind and will ask all i need to know ATM and then after answered i might leave you guys alone for a bit and just try to help others when capable to answer....
first of all i would like to start talking about rasphone settings which i believe they really crutial for getting a better and reliable dial up connection, everytime i try to edit and save Rasphone.pbk in Appdata location,i can save settings but as soon as i connect to internet it resets all over again which i believe that might be a Dll invoking that fucntion to reset....ive been trying to read some .dat files and xml in my program files folder where the modem installation is,but some functions(programming langugae) i dont understand so clearly i only learned asp thing a long time ago but sometimes i get confused and cant interpret 100% ....I really would like to get some help if nescessary i cant upload somewhre a .zip file containing the whole folder in program files and i believe for someone who knows what to do is a peace of cake to find where it is,its not many folders and they are really specific and when i read those i kept myself in doubts if i should or not do it,so better wait for some expressive help...
ok lets go straight to the point one of the bad things i noted and i cant change that resets everytime i connect to the internet as i said, is that netbt is enable and lcp extension and also encryption data is set to 8 bits which s*** so i would like to post her for you guys to analyze and maybe from that getting me some assistence and some values such as modem discription and ip's i changed for an obvious reason...

So that was the first question/doubt

the second is about windows firewall rules for programs, for example i set a rule for internet explorer ,windows update and a few others that have to connect to internet to update or function anything i need online, the doubt is i added the rule on the inbound tab but i set the ports for outbound and then set the names allowed etc,i wonder if thats correct?
or i have to create the rule in the outbound part ?

Thanks in advance and will be looking forward for answers..
    Kind regards,
    RR

I can only respond to the second question about Windows Firewall. If you want to allow applications outbound access, you have to define those rules as outbound rules. That's all you have to do. You can make those rules more strict by defining allowed ports for those applications.

Inboud rules allow applications to listen for inbound access to that application or service. This is not what you are trying to achieve here.
