undocumented feature of intune client install...does it automatically remove ms security essentials if found on client?

Hi.
Recently installed the Intune client on a computer that had the MS Security Essentials installed.
I forgot to remove the MSE before install (as advised in the client documentation) and was surprised to find that after installing the agent it (MSE) was no longer listed in the add/remove programs list and the intune endpoint was listed only.
Is this an undocumented feature or should I still manually remove existing anti malware apps before installing the intune agent?
Thanks.

Hi
Strangely MSE isn't listed here, which does appear to be an oversight - http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsintune/hh127706.aspx but as you found it is definitely removed. There's no point having MSE or FEP alongside Intune Endpoint Protection considering they share technology and signatures.
I would only manually remove left over after the Intune installation, there's no point in you manually doing something that is going to be done automatically anyway.

Hi OIstaff,
Yes, MSE is replaced with the Windows Intune Endpoint Protection agent during install.
I have notated the missing information in the Online Help and will work with our teams here to get that updated at some point.
Thanks,

Thanks Jon.
Is MSE the only "anti" malware app that the intune installation will see and remove?
