where is dump data located in windows 2008 r2

i get an event log entry message that reads
Initiator failed to connect to the target. Target IP address and TCP Port number are given in dump data.
Where is this dump data located, and how do i read it?

rick,
unless you have changed the location for dump file, you can find it in the system root directory, usually located at c:\windows\memory.dmp
you can check the settings for this option by navigating to the following location from the control panel, "System and Security" > "System" > "Advanced system settings", from there you should click on the "Advanced" tab, and under the "Startup and Recovery" section you can click on the "settings" button. from there, under the system failure section you can check your settings...

this occur only momentarily. it's not always persistent. So, does this mean this is actually not logged anywhere as mentioned by the event log?

Seems this issue is not related to memory dump and error event 6008.
See the below thread once, hope you have similar kind of issue.
