error pages missing images

i made a change to the text in the default.htm error page template.
this broke tmg 2010 sp1 so the firewall service would not start when i tried to restart it. "parameter is incorrect" error.
i copied the original default.htm back to the folder. the firewall service will now start, but all the logos are missing from the error pages. i can see all the image files in the HTML folder. the code of default.html refers to HTML/logo.png.
why aren't these images displaying?
