    Hi All,

    I am new to EDI and HIPPA world. As I read I came to know that we don’t have to install the HIPPA accelerator for BizTalk server 2006 R2.

    But I am unable to find out good examples or tutorials on HIPPA and BizTalk server 2006 R2. If you have some can you please share?

    It will be really helpful if you provide me some inputs so I can start working on it.

    @Rohit,

    I am going through your tutorials. As per the tutorials in which it is converting edi to xml doc it is looking for HIPPA_EDI adapter. I am trying this tutorial on BTS 2006R2 Ent Machine. where i am not able to see the HIPPA_EDI adapter. As per one of your thread we don't need to install HIPPA accelarator for BTS 2006 R2.         

    The Tutorial link which you provided i think it is for BTS 2006 and HIPPA 3.3.

    if we donot install hippa accelarator for BTS 2006R2 then how this messages going through HIPPA EDI subsytem in BTS 2006R2. How this hippa messages hanled in BTS 2006 R2.

    it is saying that BTS 2006 R2 which supports the HIPAA transactions but i am not able to find out how they handle.

    Hi Amit ,

    In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006\XSD_Schema\EDI directory, there is a
    self-extractor file: MicrosoftEdiXSDTemplates.exe which should include the
    HIPAA schema templates.

    I have already read the blog entry. but still not cleared about how HIPPA EDI subsytem works in BTS r2. also didn't get any tutorials for HIPPA with BTS r2.

    Amit, You need to install and configure the BizTalk Accelerator for HIPAA. Refer to the installation guide to know the installation instruction.

    Hi Rohit,

    as per this thread http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/biztalkediandas2/thread/b853f5c1-c59b-48ec-9ada-7bb52823245c we don't need to install Hippa Accelarator for BTS 2006 R2. I tried to install on my machine but not able to install. the link which you provide that is for installing HIPPA 3.3 on Biztalk 2006 machine but not on 2006 R2 machine.

    Amit, you are right beginning with BizTalk Server 2006 R2 HIPAA support is integrated into EDI engine and no separate Accelerator is available. This information is shared by Tony Bernard in this post. I think because of this change the tutorials for HIPAA 3.3 might not be relevant but you can try this sample for BTS R2 on Codeplex for your practice.
