    I have RFID Server running on Server 2008 R2 which is a Hyper-V VM. My RFID readers are configured to use a specific NTP source to get their time. My RFID Server is configured to use the same NTP source for its time. Problem: The RFID Server's time is off by several seconds. Even after a forced update. I now wonder if it is not best practice to run RFID Server on a VM. Could someone help? Thanks Mary

    I think it should be ok to run on a VM, this is supported and normal - I have seen many BizTalk installations and RFID services running on VMs. Many people do this these days. Are you sure the time time synch difference is due to RFID or maybe some other OS component or configuration difference?
