SCCM MP Setup failing on windows server 2008 R2
-
2010년 1월 25일 월요일 오후 5:00
Hi, I am unable to get a management Point installed on a basic install of SCCM 2007 sp2.
SCCM Server is windows server 2008 R2 (64bit)
SQL database is running on another server also Windows server 2008 R2 running SQL 2008.
All other components are installing fine.
The error seems to be a common one (from the MPMSI.log)
Product: SMS Management Point -- Error 25006. Setup was unable to create the Internet virtual directory CCM_Incoming
The error code is 80070005
I have removed and reinstalled BITS with no joy.
I have uninstalled SCCM, WSUS, BITS and IIS. Started from scratch and still the error remains.
The webdav setting are configured correctly.
There was a GPO that restricted access to the registry key
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SVCHOST
This is no longer being applied and the permissions have been reset.
As this is IIS 7.5 there is no IIS IWAM account.
Any help or advice would be very welcome.
Below is some more log extracts:

2010년 1월 25일 월요일 오후 6:07Try uninstalling and reinstalling BITS. If you search these forums for ccm_incoming, you will get numerous hits with this solution. I have also successfully resolved this issue by doing this.

2010년 1월 25일 월요일 오후 7:43Hi,
Did you use default IIS website or custom website ?
if you used default IIS website, but had "Use Custom website" selected, this error will occur.
Could you try the following steps:
1. Go to Site Database / Site Management / ( Site Code)
2. Right click, Properties
3. Under the Ports tab, cleare the Use custom web site checkbox.
4. Install MP again.
Thank you.

Hi
- Remove the MP as a site system role (if it is still installed), wait for it to finish
- Remove IIS completely
- Reboot the server
- Stop the Task Scheduler Service
- Rename the %windir%\Tasks folder to something else (or move it)
- Start the Task Scheduler Service (this will recreate the %windir%\Tasks folder)
- Reinstall IIS, BITS, WebDAV
- Insure BITS and WebDAV are enabled
- Reinstall the MP

Hi I run in to same problem as ciaran77 secondary site MPpoint dont want install, and my problem was GPO that block conficker worm which recreate default security setting on windows tasks folder, Administrator and System account has limited acces only read instead of full control, so i move server object to separate OU where this GPO was not applied and grant full control acces on tasks directoy, that fix my problem, MP point is installed without problem, there is no need to do anything with IIS, BITS or uninstalationon of MP point.
Good Luck
