Rehoming public folders
I'm getting ready to decommission the last Exchange 2003 servers in my org, and one of the last remaining steps is rehoming the public folders.
They’ve been replicating for several months to the Exchange 2007 environment, so the data is current.
The question I have is this:
Is there any issue from a client perspective with rehoming the public folders during work hours?
When we make the change, does it take effect immediately?
My recollection is that they may have to restart Outlook, but I want to be sure.
I have read this article, but it doesn't address client impact. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb331970.aspx
Thanks!

- On the properties of the mailbox datatbase in Exchange 2007, does the default public folder store for that database show as the public folder database on the Exchange 2003 server or the Exchange 2007 server? It should be the Exchange 2007 server, as you're obviously going to be removing the Exchange 2003 server. If that's the case, I don't know of any client impact because the clients should already be using the Exchange 2007 copies of the public folders and removing the Exchange 2003 server from the list of replicas shouldn't affect those users.

- Thanks, Neil. Actually, the default public folder store is still on the Exchange 2003 server.
I want to understand how switching the default public folder store from E2K3 to E2K7 would impact Outlook clients.
Make sense? - As long as you have replicas of your public folders on the Exchange 2007 server public folder database, I don't know of any direct client impact.
