Office Professional Plus 2010 - Not activated after being previously installed and activated using MAK

I am having an issue with installations of Microsoft Office Professional Plus being "unactivated" for lack of a better description. Basically what happens is a new laptop of desktop is issued to an employee with Windows 7 64bit and Office Pro Plus 32bit. I install Office using our MAK and it registers over the internet. The Office software continues to work for several weeks and sometimes several months only to eventually come back with the Activation Wizard for Microsoft Professional Plus 2010.
On the bottom of the Activation Wizard is the Error Code: 0xC004F074. After searching for this error code I find http://support.microsoft.com/kb/974998. Every article I find related to this error code is KMS related. This isn't much help as we don't have a Key Management Server setup. We always use our MAK.
We are a relatively small organization and only a certain number of our users are on Office 2010. Of the approximately 60 users on Office 2010 in our organization, 6 users have reported the activation issue. Some of these systems have been in use since June/July 2010 and only recently have had issues. In the last 2 days I've had 3 additional reports of this same issue.
Any assistance is appreciated!

Hi we are having the same problem, we are a school and have activated 100 copies of Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus. They have been working fine for about four weeks but today we have had about 30 machines became un- activated. As you can see by the dialog we are getting its to do with hardware changes. However we have not touched the machines/upgraded in anyway.
We are now slowly reactivating with our MAK key - but concearned it may happen again!

I'm somewhat relieved that someone else is having the same issue. I concerned that one day I will come to work and all of our copies of Office 2010 Professional Plus will become un-activated.
This is especially worrisome as we have multiple users who travel internationally to sometimes areas without cell phone or internet connection.
My latest case of this issue involved a user currently in South America. She has had her laptop, a Dell e6410 since June of last year and no hardware changes have been made to the machine since then. Yesterday this user got the message the her Office installation was not activated. I walked her through the process over the phone earlier today and was able to re-activate her installation. However, within about 3 hours the user contacted me again with the same issue.
Anyone have a fix or have some insight they would like to provide?

I have a 64 bit Windows 7 Pro laptop, Used MAK to install and Activate Office 2010 and now a few months later it says product not activated .
Big red stripe across the top of all Office Programs- When I click on Change Activation Key, nothing happens.
Any luck finding an answer?
