View using Groupby, lookup field and managed metadata, results to an error

I have a calendar and a document library. At the document library I add a lookup field to the calendar, where "in this column" I select "start time". At the document library, I insert a managed metadata field and select "<label for="ctl00_PlaceHolderMain_ctl01_ThirdDivision_ctl00_createTermSet">Customize your term set:".</label>
<label for="ctl00_PlaceHolderMain_ctl01_ThirdDivision_ctl00_createTermSet"> I insert some documents into the document library.</label>
<label for="ctl00_PlaceHolderMain_ctl01_ThirdDivision_ctl00_createTermSet">I create a view where in "Group by" I select "Calendar:start Time". The view results in an error (with correlation id). If i choose not to show the managed metadata field, the view appears normally. So, the culprit appears to be the managed metadata.</label>
<label for="ctl00_PlaceHolderMain_ctl01_ThirdDivision_ctl00_createTermSet">But, the error dissaperars if, at the lookup field/</label>in this column, I select title. So, it looks like it's a combination of managed metadata and lookupfield to a date.
The ULS error is: ( {28e0f6a8-c407-479f-8125-4c6cd4596cec} ==lookup field, not the managed metadata field)

<label for="ctl00_PlaceHolderMain_ctl01_ThirdDivision_ctl00_createTermSet">I don't want to fill up the question with 37 lines of ULS logs, so I just put 2 entries.</label>
Does anyone else has the same issue?

Hi Christos,
Thanks for your post.
I am trying to involve someone familiar with this topic to further look at this issue.

Hi XristosK,
Was this document library or calendar upgraded from 2007 previously at all? I performed the following steps and could not reproduce the issue at all in my MSS 2010 environment.
- configured MMS terms via MMS application
- OOB Document Library > created new MMS column and associated with terms created in service app
- OOB Document Library > created new lookup column to the OOB Calendar
- Calendar > created multiple events in calendar
- Document Library > uploaded couple documents and associated MMS and lookup values
- Created new view with 'Group By' function for lookup column start time
I am able to view the content and it renders without issue. In investigating though, I found this was a known issue in WSS 3.0 / MOSS 2007 and a hotfix was released to address it, however does not appear to persist in MSS 2010 from my research and testing.
Please let me know if I am missing something in my steps or testing.

Thanks for your answer.
It seems like two (team) sites are having this problem and one is not!! So, it's puzzling for me too.
Step one,two Don't configure MMS - just create the managed metadata set inside te OOB library.
Could you please do one more thing: create a wiki page and insert the view inside - is it renders well?
The only thing we could think of is to apply the latest cumulative update and pray. Since i't August, everything slow but I'll keep you posted!

Hi XristosK,
I am currently at MSS 2010 SP1 w/ April 2012 CU on my environment for testing and I am unable to reproduce using customized managed metadata with terms just on the library and unable to replicate issue on the wiki page library either.
As the issue appears to be isolated to a couple site collections, got some questions for you.
1. Are the site collections in the same web application?
a. If so, if you create a new site collection in same web application can you replicate the issue?
b. Were these site collections upgraded from Office SharePoint 2007 previously?
2. If you create a new web application and site collection, can you reproduce the issue there?
