Excel files error in SharePoint 2007

Hi,
I am facing some resistance in my organization from BU as SharePoint does not support Excel Files with the Macros, External References, Worksheet protection and many more. I understand the error as I read

But is there any way around to modify those and use it on SharePoint, Its tough to convince Users to start using SharePoint as Collabration and now they think Product is complete scrap as those features are used a lot.
Any workaround will be appreciated.

Doesn't sharepoint allow for User Defined Functions? Would this be a workaround for you?
