Disable Wiki usage
-
2010년 2월 24일 수요일 오후 9:08A while ago one of our Admins was directed to disable the ability to create Wiki lists. He can't remember how he did it and now we need to enable it again. Is there an easy way to find out how it was hidden?
I would think feature hiding and such but I'm not 100% sure.- 이동됨 Mike Walsh FIN 2010년 2월 25일 목요일 오전 4:33 wiki q (From:SharePoint - Design and Customization (pre-SharePoint 2010))

It's been a while. Do you need to disable it for the whole farm or just a site?
What version?

For specific sites only.
But if you have a solution for the hole farm, it could be usefull...

For a single site you can just go into Site Settings > Manage Site Features and click the Disable button for the Wiki Home Page...
For the whole site I'd have to dig.

2012년 5월 1일 화요일 오후 7:18Because we are building web site with ECM over it and the wikis are very confusing for our users. We have many content types for different pages that are specific for specific content and the users just hit "page" on the creation dialog, which is the wiki page. Disabling the "wiki home page" feature do not disable the wiki pages at all, it just disables the ability to set wiki as home page, the users still can create wiki pages...

What template are you using when creating the site?
Try using "blank site". That doesn't have Wiki Enabled at all.

I am using blank site definition (web teplate, based on the blank site definition)
It has "Page" option in the add dialog, it is a wiki page and it can be created with blank sites... :-/ In bulgarian translation it is written in a very confusing way, and since our users are not advanced, they are confused. Except that, we don't want that functionality enabled, when we don't need it...
The screenshot is from root web site of an empty collection, no features activated, based on a STS#0 (blank site). When users hit "Page", SharePoint asks them if they want to create Site Assets and Site Pages libraries, that are used for Wiki...
I couldn't find from where this option is enabled - no feature corresponds to it, it is not definet in the site definition's onet.xml, neither in the global onet.xml...
)...
