I need to remove 2 computers from a SBS 2008 domain.
When I select a computer in the SBS console "Computers" view, then click "Remove..." and confirm, the job fails with "An error occurred when running this task" .
There are no events recorded in the logs. It just fails.
The server has all the updates applied using Windows Update Service although I haven't applied any sbs specific updates because I don't know how to get them.
(I don't know if this means anything but there are no computers shown in the Active Directory when I try to do this task using Administrative Tools. Every computer was joined to the domain using the sbs-provided http scripts.)
Thanks in advance.

Hi Murray, do you have a second administrator on the SBS2008? If yes, you can try to remove the computer under that administrator account. Also, you can post the console log under C:\Program Files\Windows Small Business Server\Logs\Console.log so that we can help to have a check.Sean Zhu

Thank you Sean!
I used another admin account and it worked.
It is so frustrating that Microsoft continues to have a hierarchy of administrators where the only one with real control is the administrator who actually loaded the OS, isn't it?
I am of course aware of this "king" administrator in Win 7 but had no idea it also exists in the Server products.
