SBS 2003 and SBS 2008 can each co exist with Server 2003 or Server 2008.  SBS 2008 Premium comes with a second license for Serve 2008 and a license for SQL server, so you get 2 servers, Exchange, SharePoint, WSUS, Fax, and SQL plus a management console and simplified management for less than the cost of any three.

However, SBS cannot be used as a Terminal Server to run applications, you must have a separate TS /RDS.  And we definitly do not recommend using SBS to host public websites.

If you purchase SBS 2003 and Server 2008 you will need to purchase Server CALs for the Server 2008.  If the servers are of the same generation, as they are in Premium, the SBS covers the Server CALs for the other servers.

There are several execllent books available for SBS, just bingle for SBS Books, by Eriq Neal or Charlie Russel.

    1. SBS is not good for public web server.

    2. SBS can not work for TS/RDS

    3. it only good for Email server and database server

    is it right?

I use an e commercial website , I need web server, database server , Email server and Terminal server, is it best for my buy 4 physical servers and install windows Server 2008, is it righ?

also have another stupid  question: what is CAL meaning? if i buy windwos server 2008, do I still need to buy Cal?

First, the web server.  It is not SBS in particular, it is any Domain member/joined server, DC or not.  Hosted web space is cheap, and they have a lot more resources than most of us could manage to protect the server, including usually more than one connection to electricity, multiple internet connections and so on to provide for better uptime.  Plus, if you have people connecting to your network over the internet you place your network at risk.  Do yourself a favor and keep the public out of your network.

But, SBS is perfectly happy with other servers in the same network and in the same domain.  It is not happy with another SBS where it can see it.  But with SBS premium you get 1 SBS and 1 Server 2008 that must be installed in the same domain.

CAL - Client Access License.  You must have a license for each client that accesses the server.  SBS CALs conver the SBS and all the servers of the same generation or older that are joined to the domain.

    thanks , more clear.

Now I know SBS can coexist with another windows server in the same domain. my last question is  : at the same domain, one SBS  2008 server can coexist how many other windows server 2008, 1 or  2 or more?

    thank you.

There is no limit to the number of DCs or member servers in a domain, SBS or otherwise.  But one would have to ask why you would want more than one DC unless you have multiple offices with slow or flakey connections between them.

Just to clairify, member servers are fine, indeed encouraged.  Additional DCs in SBS land are unnecessary and may be problematic.  I won't go into all the reasons here, but if you search this group and the interenet you will find lots of explanations as to why.
