After upgrading Windows 7 to SP1 in DELL Precision 670, hibernation no longer works, meaning there is no hybrid sleep and no hibernation. There was NO hibernation problem before SP1. If hibernation turned on, the screen goes dark and the computer waits for something indefinitely. If I press the power button, it just turns off right away. On boot, it starts Windows 7 SP1 from scratch.
I also tried to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 Sp1 using this image:

to no avail. The computer did not seem to write anything on the disk in the hibernation file at all. I had hybrid sleep turned on. With the fresh Windows it just turned off very quickly and then started from zero when I pressed the power button.

Download and install the latest Windows 7 compatible video graphics drivers from the support web site of the manufacturer of your video graphics chipset.

It would be good if it were that easy. The display ATI FireGL driver came from Microsoft. ATI does not offer this driver for Windows 7 x64. I see only for Vista x64 on their website.
What I do not understand though is how it is possible to break hibernation if it worked fine before SP1. How on Earth was that allowed to happen!

disable hibernation with powercfg, reboot and enable it again:

This SP1 bug is described here:

and the hot fix is available but not for Windows 7 x64. So my question if it will be and when available for x64?

No, this has nothing to do with the problem that is already identified by Microsoft here:

this fix applies to RTM, too. Do you use a SCSI miniport driver?
I uploaded the x64 Version to my SkyDrive:

2011년 2월 22일 화요일 오후 4:52Yes, the computer has SCSI disks only.Where did you find the fix for x64. Microsoft KB page does not show it for x64.

2011년 2월 22일 화요일 오후 7:16Thanks much Andre. This hot fix fixed the SP1 SCSI bug. I risked and decided to install it from your SkyDrive and everything seems to be fine now with hibernation. I am just curious where you got it. I see on torrent websites but no official download.

2011년 2월 22일 화요일 오후 7:57I download the fixes right after they appear in the RSS feed and store them locally on my HDD. Later I can install them If I see one of the issues.
