Should the group chat application be enabled for replication?

    Dotaz

  • When I check the replication status, the groupchat server shows false, and never updated.

Does CMS sync with group chat? and if so, what ports needs to be opened?

    Thanks

  • Hi Shah,

Group  chat server has it's own database instance. Group chat server will not contact CMS database for replication. However , it does contact FE server for sip signalling.

Below article would be helpful for reference , http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd441213(v=office.13).aspx

    Thanks

  • Group Chat is represented as a trusted application pool in Lync Server 2010 and does not have the standard Lync Server 2010 Replica Agent installed during deployment, thus it does not have any contact with the CMS.

It's expected behaviour to see replication as false in the Lync Server Control Panel for your Group Chat server.

  • Hi Shah,

Yes, Group Chat is considered as a trusted application and not the part of the main Lync topology. So it will always show False when you run the Get-CsManagementStoreReplicationStatus cmdlet.

Moreover, provide this article for reference. Hope helps.
