Lync stops working when sharing screens

    Question

  • I've been having this issue for about three months and the tech support at my company cannot figure out what is wrong so i'm hoping that someone else has had this issue resolved before.

    The issue is as follows:

When sharing screens, i can share my screen with others completely find but when someone else tries to share their screen with me lync shuts down. I am attaching the logs from event viewer.

  • As a starting point you should update your client to the latest cumulative update.

  • Besides Mike’s suggestions, you can also check if the sharing is normal when you log on the issue machine with your account.

If still no luck, please use the Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Logging Tool to do some troubleshooting accordingly.

  • pat,

when you say shut down.. does your local lync client crash, is the remote party's local lync client crashing? or does the sharing portion just fail with an error message? as mike stated, if you havent already, please update your clients to the latest hotfix and see if that helps.

also, are all the remote party's that are trying to desktop share with you lync clients? or do you have any legacy clients such as communicator trying to interop here?

    Regards
