Implementation Error!

    Question

  • I am trying to implement Lync 2010 standard edition

I got the below error during the preparation of standard edition server

    Checking prerequisite SqlExpressRtc...installing...failure code -2067919934
The server must be restarted before installation can continue. To continue the installation after the server has restarted, start the Deployment Wizard

Even i restarted the server a lot but i got the same error and i tried to install the sql express via command line (below)

    "D:\SW_DVD5_Lync_Server_Ent_2010_64Bit_English_Ent_Std_MLF_X17-12560\Setup\amd64\SQLEXPR_x64" /ACTION=Install /FEATURES=SQLEngine,Tools /INSTANCENAME=RTC /TCPENABLED=1 /SQLSVCACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService" /SQLSYSADMINACCOUNTS="Builtin\Administrators" /BROWSERSVCSTARTUPTYPE="Automatic" /AGTSVCACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService" /SQLSVCSTARTUPTYPE=Automatic

But the same so please advise...

  • This issue may due to the SQL services not getting uninstall.

Please go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager, and delete the registry key PendingFileRenameOperations. Then try again.

  • the above incident is solved by the following...

      • Open Lync Management Shell
      • Export Configuration from Central Management Store (Export-CSConfiguration -FileName C:\Config.zip)
      • Import the configuration into the Local Store (Import-CSConfiguration -FileName C:\Config.zip -LocalStore

    Thanks a lot!
