Lync 2013 Client Crash (MFReadWrite.dll) - Logitech C920 webcam

    Question

  • Hi all,

Since I have bought and connected a Logitech C920 webcam, Lync 2013 client will imediately crash with error message below in the application log.
Already deleted all Logitech software/drivers and using Microsoft Certified drivers but that's still no solution.
Also deinstalled all Lync client updates and even reinstalled Lync...still the same issue.
Only after disconnecting the webcam, Lync client will start, Please help.....hope there's some solution.
    Thanks !!

  • Hi,

Please install the latest update for Lync to test the issue.

  • Hi Kent,
I tried with all updates installed for the Lync 2013 client but also with none updates installed. No difference.
I found out that the LYNC APP of Windows 8 is working !!

So it looks it has really something to do with the Lync 2013 (desktop) client...
    Any other thoughts maybe ?

    Thanks !

  • Hi,

Seems like compatibility issue with Logitech. Please also update your webcam driver to latest version to test the issue.

If the issue persists, please uninstall KB2817465 temporarily just for test purpose. Here is a similar case for your reference:
