cannot start microsoft office outlook

    after configuring outlook with the exchange 2003 mail am getting the message " cannot start Microsoft Office outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. You must connect to Microsoft  Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your offline folder file"

    Suggestion A

    Cause: This problem may occur if you configure outlook incorrect for your mail accounts.

     

    You'll need to create a new Outlook profile from scratch, then configure it correctly for your mail accounts

    To add this DWORD value yourself, follow these steps.

    Outlook 2007

    1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. Locate and then click the following subkey:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\RPC

    1. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
    2. Type DefConnectOpts, and then press ENTER.
    3. Right-click DefConnectOpts, and then click Modify.
    4. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
    5. Exit Registry Editor.

    Outlook 2010

    1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. Locate and then click the following subkey:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\RPC

    1. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
    2. Type DefConnectOpts, and then press ENTER.
    3. Right-click DefConnectOpts, and then click Modify.
    4. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
    5. Exit Registry Editor.
