Office Professional Plus 2010 Home Use Program

    Question

  • Hello. I am having difficulty with Office Professional Plus 2010 Home Use Program.

This all started with issues between it and iCloud not syncing or even recognizing each other. At Apple tech’s request, I removed the 2010 suite for a reinstall. The problem that I have is that I don’t have the disk for the install as it was an online download with an Activation key provided to me from work. I have both the Product # and Product Key (FPP).

As I don’t have the disk, I reinstalled Office Enterprise 2007 which works, problem solved. The problem I have is trying to reinstall 2010. I thought I could download a trial version of 2010, then plug in the Product Key and make it happen, however, the site will not allow this, instead just going to “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.” Diagnostics state that the web site is refusing the request, or something like that.

How can I download 2010 again so that I can use it? I have paid for it, and want to be able to access it and am getting a tad frustrated.

Also, may I suggest FREE online support via web chat from MS. Apple does it, so I think you can too.

Thank you to any and all who reply.

  • Hi,

the link for HUP is here:
    http://www.microsofthup.com/hupus/home.aspx?culture=en-US

(please ensure you select the correct global region)

There are several links offering help with HUP, including a link at the bottom of the page (for USA) titled "Customer Support", which opens an FAQ page.

Essentially, it says that you should request a re-send of the HUP email which will give you the link you need.
You will need to use your original company/enterprise/organisation email address, as only that is valid for your claim.

  • Hi William,

To re-download Office Home Use Program, follow these steps:

    1. Go to the confirmation email you received after purchasing.
    2. Click the download link.
    3. Save the file to your “Desktop”. Do not change the file name.
    4. After the download has completed, double-click on the file icon to start the installation.
    5. When prompted, use the product key listed on your confirmation page and email to activate your software.

If you would like to buy a backup DVD, click here to resend your welcome mail that will allow you to re-enter the store.

  • The solutions provided in replies no longer work; my computer crashed recently with my backups. The download link in my order email just goes to the generic office 365/2013 page, and when I try to download the legacy copy of 2010 plus it asks for my key, but then says in red text my particular key isn't eligible for a free download. What the heck?

on the HUP page, at the bottom of the page, there is a "Customer Support" link, which will take you to a page of telephone numbers where you can contact Customer Service, and explain your situation.
