  • Hi,

    Thank you for using Office 2010 Setup and Deployment forum.

    You should be able to put whatever you want for the username and initials. It can be the same for all users. If those values are missing it will prompt for them. As far as I know you can't have them blank.

    Another option would be to use variables to specify the username and initials. Something like

    Reg Add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common\UserInfo /v UserName /d "%username%"

    Reg Add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common\UserInfo /v UserInitials /d %username:~0,2%

    This will put the user's logon name as the Username and the first two characters of the logon name as the Initials.

    Best Regards,

  • Are there any other variations of %username:~0,2% that can be used? If your wanting to grab the details from their username.

  • Hi All,

    Is it possible i can add some setting under OCT so that the enter your fullname and initials message won't prompt up ?

    Currently i'm using OCT to customize the office 2010. Can you please advise how to add into the OCT to disabling this message.

    Thanks

  • If you cannot use OCT you can try using Microsoft Office HKLM->HKCU Propagation.  Create a .reg file with:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\14.0\User Settings\MyCustomSettings1]
    "Count"=dword:00000001 (increment after each change)

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\14.0\User Settings\MyCustomSettings1\Create]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\14.0\User Settings\MyCustomSettings1\Create\Software]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\14.0\User Settings\MyCustomSettings1\Create\Software\Microsoft]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\14.0\User Settings\MyCustomSettings1\Create\Software\Microsoft\Office]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\14.0\User Settings\MyCustomSettings1\Create\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\14.0\User Settings\MyCustomSettings1\Create\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common\UserInfo]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\14.0\User Settings\MyCustomSettings1\Create\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common\UserInfo]
    "UserName"="FredOliverOrange"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\14.0\User Settings\MyCustomSettings1\Create\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common\UserInfo]
    "UserInitials"="FOO"
