Disappeared Word Document

    Question

  • Half-hour ago a Word document I'd spent most of the day writing disappeared.  Text just disappeared, character by character, like someone was doing erase or backspace. Not only that, but there was no back-up that I could find although I've been working on this for at 3-4 hours and thought there was an interim/draft automatic save on documents in process. I actually saved and closed an earlier draft and printed it, then re-opened to edit or rewrite.

What's up? In set-up I had to go to Word 2003 Styles to simply get single line spacing.
