    2. Double-click the sounds.exe program file on your hard disk to start the Setup program.
    3. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

How to start using Office Sounds in Office 2010

    1.       Open Office 2010 program (Word, Excel…)

    2.       Click File, click Options.

    3.       In the Word Options dialog box, click the Advance tab ,

    4.       Under General , select the Provide feedback with sound check box, and then click OK.

Note: I test this Add-In ,it work compatibility with Office 2010

    Windows 7 Professional 32-bit

    Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010

  • Are you then saying there is no sound add-in to Office 2010 64 bit?
    Monday, May 02, 2011 12:23 PM
  • Hi Phil,

Generally x64 Office 2010 is only recommended for companies expecting to file share documents over 4Gbs. As this is the recommended use most add-ins are not compatible for x64 Office 2010 and x86 Office 2010 is recommended for general use as it supports all of the add-ins.

  • This does work in Windows 7 64-bit and Office 2010 64-bit.

  • So the question remains - how does one, if one can, take advantage of Office Sounds in a Windows 7 64-bit environment running 32-bit Office 2010?  My SysAdmin - who has to install this for me - wants to know!  [Me too]

  • In order to correctly install Office sounds for any of these Office 365 - 2010/2013 (x86/x64) editions, you will firstly need to correctly follow the all these steps>

    1. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7015

To download & install this Office Add-in: Office Sounds

    1. Download the file by clicking the Download button (above) and saving the file to your hard disk.
    2. You will possibly need to use either WinRAR 4.20 http://www.win-rar.com/ or WinZip 17 http://www.winzip.com/win/en/index.htm to extract the contents of this “Sounds.exe” program file on to your hard disk so that you will have three files, & then you will need to double-click the “Sounds.msi” file in order to correctly & fully install the Office Sounds for either Office 2010 (x64) / Office 2013 (x64).

Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

I have fully beta tested the above out on both these Office 365 / 2010 (x64) & Office 2013 (x64) packages with great success under these eight (8) different languages.

    Office Add-in: Office Sounds – <eight (8) Languages Notice>

  • Another way:

Download & save sounds.exe as instructed

Open a Command Prompt / Dos window
Within the Command Prompt, change to the location where you saved Sounds.exe

Extract the .msi contained in sounds.exe with the following command:

    sounds /c /t:c:\xxxx            (where  /c = extract, and /t = target folder)

Then execute (ie. double-click in explorer) sounds.msi  in the \xxxx folder
