Auto-Expand Text Boxes

    Question

  • I am trying to pull together a job descriptions template for my HR department.  In the current document, when you go to write more information in the description text boxes, however, the text box will not automatically expand to show all of the text that is included (if you go beyond the text boxes set size). In addition, there are 3 text boxes and if the content of the top or middle text box goes beyond the text box size, the other boxes stay in the same place. Is there any easy way for me to make it so:

    1) The text boxes automatically expands based on the amount of text included (e.g. there would be a default size (say 3-4 lines) but if we go over that amount, the text box would expand to show all of the copy)

& 2) The other text boxes would move based on the size of the text box above it.

I would appreciate any help/suggestions for this.

  • 1. In your template, after you have created one text box and set it to expand based on content, right-click the border and choose Set as Default Text Box.

    2. This is not possible, as far as I know.
