Outlook 2011 for Mac Can't Find IMAP Server

    Question

  • I have a new email server at work.  I'm trying to get Outlook 2011 for Mac to connect to it via an IMAP account.  It worked for half a day, then stopped working.  Today's problem is the following error:  "Outlook cannot find the server. Verify the server information is entered correctly in the Account Settings, and that your DNS settings in the Network pane of System Preferences are correct."  The error code is -3176.

I checked the DNS settings; they are correct.  Any suggestions?  Thanks...Rob.

  • Hi,

what about the fireewallsettings. Have you checked if it is working to connect the IMAP Server. A second reason could be that the password has expierend. Have you checked that?
