Outlook stopped receiving emails...

    Question

  • I'm running XP Pro, Outlook 2003 & have SBC Yahoo Business DSL as my ISP.
    I'm using outlook with my sbcglobal.net email & on Thursday, I stopped receiving emails to Outlook.
    They still come to iPhone & everything is current when going to the webmail page.
    I can test the account settings in Outlook & everything works just fine - test email goes everywhere its supposed to, except for Outlook!
    I have created a new profile, new email account, pst file, using different combinations of each, all with the same result.
    Error messages I am getting are;
    'Receiving' reported an error (0x800CCC90) : Your incoming (POP3) email server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or ISP. The server responded ; ERR inactivity time out.
    I've also received the message that the connection to the server was interrupted, with the error code (0x800CCC0F).
    Server time out is set to 10 minutes.
    I have also gone to webmail & taken every message from the time this started to present time & moved them to a separate folder, thinking an email message may have been causing it.
    I have also disable NAV, thinking it may be part of the problem, but no luck.
    ATT's tech support is pretty useless, as 'they don't support' Outlook!
    One last thing, another user in office is having no problems, the only difference is that she's using Outlook Express.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Answers

  • Bit the bullet & paid ATT their $50 for support.
    They worked for it, as between 3 guys, they spent about 7 or 8 hours on it.
    The answer?
    'There was an issue with our server that we were able to correct'.
    Really?
    And I had to pay for that?

  • First make sure to fully patch the Outlook... You can refer the following thread: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/exchangesvrclients/thread/1cc194de-20df-4720-9f5f-4c76f651f983/

  • It's on SP3 & MS Update shows no critical or optional updates available.

    I have only one account, so the send & rcieve groups wouldn't seem to apply & I believe I've tried just about all the suggestions in that other thread, in one way or another.

    I enabled logging & got a lot of this;

  • Another interesting item, I can set up the same account, same settings, etc, using Outlook Express & it works fine.
    I'm thinking remove & reinstall Outlook?

  • First make sure to fully patch the Outlook.

    Is that the best you've got?

    As far as the other thread you referred me to, I see a lot of 'yeah, that's happening to me too..' type answers along with others that I've already ruled out.

    I don't have any hude attachments to emails, I don't have multiple accounts, I moved all emails from around the time this stopped working, I have no anti spam software running, have not only disabled, but removed AV program, removed & re-installed outlook...
