Outlook 2007 product key

    Question

  • I just did an upgrade for someone from windows xp to 7. with their office product key, i was able to get their hybrid version of office 2007 back onto the system (it was a pick and choose bundle it looks like.... word, outlook, excel, maybe another). The big reason for them wanting it, though, was to get outlook with business contact manager reloaded. I noticed when I got the keys for the products there was an extra for outlook, and it worked, until (after a lot of hair pulling, thank you windows 7) i got business contact manager installed. outlook itself still works, but the contact manager says the product key is not valid to use that feature... So my question is, how do i change the product key for just outlook to the one they had which obviously was usable with contact manager? Thank you!

  • Hello,

If your customer can use Outlook 2007 with BCM on Windows XP, it should be OK to work on Windows 7. Could you find their original Office installation disk, is it Office small business suite? Business Contact Manager is an optional  for Microsoft Office Outlook, included on a separate installation disc in Office 2007 Small Business and above.

I suggest we contact your local Microsoft Customer service, find a licensing specialist to check the product key your customer owned, licensing specialist can figure out the key type and status and can help you re-activate it.

Sorry for any trouble it brings to you and your customer.

    Best regards,
