  • The 4006 is the older Technical Preview build.  Would you consider installing the more recent Office 2010 Beta 4536 build?  You can find it here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/office/2010/en/default.aspx

Under "Get It Now" click the second option for enterprises and businesses.  You should uninstall Office 2010 TP and make sure Send-A-Smile is also uninstalled.  Then reboot and install the Beta build.

If you want to stick with the older build, then the keys on this page work:

    Hi Ted,

I stumbled upon this thread because my Office 2010 installation wouldn't activate with the product key I was given. Using the key I found in the link above worked- but I have the newer office version (14.0.4536.1000 32bit). Thought I'd let you know.

    Best wishes

Could you please be more specific about where the problem occurs?  What's your OS?  How are you entering the product key?  If you go through the Control Panel, can you enter the key there?  (Click Control Panel --> Programs --> Programs and Features --> Click Microsoft Office 2010 ProPlus) and click Change or Repair on top.)

The 4006 build came out last July... were you able to activate it back then?  Where did you download the exe from?

  • Hi Kunjan,

the trial version is limited to 60 days, by design. If you want to continue using the product, you need to purchase it.
