Outlook closes itself

    Question

  • Windows Server 2003, Outlook 2007 on Exchange Server.
    One server and thin clients.
    No one has a problem but one client cannot open outlook. When he opens, at taskbar there's an alert saying service cannot be started, a white screen on outlook and it closes itself.
    The error message is;
    Faulting application outlook.exe, version 12.0.6316.5000, stamp 4833a470, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.4455, stamp 49900e81, debug? 0, fault address 0x0002a0f0.

  • What service can't be started? Check tbe event log - Outlook doesn't run as a service but it may or may not be related to outlook's problem.

    Everyone trying to use this one client has problems or only one user?

  • Only one user has problem.
    The event log is as i write. I think it's useless. I'll check to give you more details.
    There was a problem about the alert. I translated it wrong. I think the right translation is;
    unable to start processing services.

  • Here are more event logs.

    ID: 6, Application Name: Microsoft Office Outlook, Application Version: 12.0.6316.5000, Microsoft Office Version: 12.0.4518.1014. This session lasted 3 seconds with 0 seconds of active time.  This session ended with a crash.

    This message is given for a lot of times.

  • When i opened outlook in safe mode it didn't crash.
    If there'll still be problems, i'll take a backup of my clients posts, delete his account, recrate his account and restore his posts.
    For now, opening in safe mode is the answer. If i'll find a better solution or a detailed information about the error i'll share it with you.
