Prince2 MS Project 2010 Template

    Question

  • Hi guys,

I'll be managing a small project soon and would appreciate it if I can get hold off a Prince2 2009 template. I found the Prince2 (original) MS Project 2007 version http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/projects-in-controlled-environments-methodology-TC010205200.aspx

Can anyone guide me to the updated version?

    Thank you

  • I would go to the Prince2 site and see if they have one.   I have found that there are very few templates published by others.  If Prince2 found the WBS documented, you could just create one.  Maybe some in the forum will post theirs.

  • Hey Zahir... you asked this about a year ago - so it probably will not be relevant for you. I stumbled on the mpp you just linked to as well and found it to be a really bad PRINCE2:2009 project file. IMHO you can even hardly recognize the methodology in it.

Google brought no answers either, so I created one myself: http://tehjob.wordpress.com/2011/11/18/microsoft-project-and-prince2-a-better-template/

It is not perfect and it needs to be adapted to your specific project, in line with PRINCE2's "Tailor to suite the project environment" principle. But I am quite certain it is way better than what you find on Microsoft's Office site.
