PWA Security and Permission

    Question

  • For a user biju in Project Server 2010 and for th euse of PWA

I need to have READ ONLY access in PWA to Project Center and Project Views. In other words, the person using this account should be able to see project center and a list of projects and when they click on a project they can see the actual project schedule. They should not be able to edit any information and they should not be able to see anything else on Project Server.

The only projects that they should be able to see on Project Server are the following three projects:

    Biju test1

    Biju schedule

    Biju plan

  • Hi Biju Charles

What you are asking for is a security solution.

First of all create the user. [Biju]

Cretae a Group [Biju Group]. Add the user to this Group.

Create a Category [Biju Cat]. Add the Group to this Category.

Now in permissions for the Group box. DO NOT ALLOW THESE THREE PERMISSIONS TO THE USER.

Publish Project, Save Project to Project Server, Save Protected Baseline.

REMEMBER TO GIVE ALLOW PERMISSION FOR 'OPEN PROJECT'

Below, In projects section, select the second Option Button "Only the projects indicated"

NOW SELECT THE THREE PROJECTS YOU WANT USER SHOULD SEE in 'Selected Projects' Box.

Keep the 5 CheckBoxes uncheched below & Save.

I think it should work, if not please tell. I would like to help.
