Copy paste from Excel 2010 to MS Project 2007 Standard Errors

    Întrebare

  • I am losing the last digit or letter when doing a copy and paste from Excel cells to MS Project.  After googling the problem I read one blog that stated the fix was removing MS Project 2007 SP3.  Is this really the issue?  Any other suggestions?

  • Hello Claudio & Angela,

Please try the new update below:

Description of the Project 2007 hotfix package (Project-x-none.msp): February 28, 2012

Assume that you copy some data that contains an odd number of characters from a row in an Excel worksheet, and then you paste the data into a column in a task in a Project 2007 project. In this scenario, the last character in the data in the column is removed.

I hope it works. Please post for feedback after installation.

    Regards.

PS. By the way, this is Project 2010 Feb 2012 Hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2597942

  • Does it also happen while doing "Paste Special - Text data" ?

  • IMO, it is not related to SP3. As a workaround, Notepad can be used to copy/paste single columns (first transfer data to Notepad from Excel and then to Project from Notepad). Are you using non-english versions ?

  • We have more than 1000 Ms Project users with  SP3 and some are reporting this error. Is there a solution? Can any one help?

We are using the Brazilian-Portuguese version.

I tested in version with no service pack and "Copy and Paste" worked as expected. But not with SP3.
