    Hi Donna,

all services are up and running? The problem is only that you can't open the management console?

    Greetings

Yes all the services are running. The server is running too high on memory What I do to fix this is to change the number of scanning engines in Antigen. If I try to run the Admin tool on my PC it will not run I get an error saying Antigen Administrator module has encountered a problem and needs to close. I can open the Antigen Admin on my PC for other Exchange servers.

When I log into the server I get a pop up that says Antigen Administrator Module encountered a problem and needed to close. And it ask if I would like to send error report.

This just started about a month and half ago.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall Antigen on this server, that did not work. Because of the high memory the server stops running. Is there a way to do a clean uninstall?

    Hi Donna,

what services are causing the high memory consumption?

I wouldn't say that the number of engines causes the high memory usage, mostly the number of scan processes are the problem. You can change them in the registry if you don't have access to the console:

    1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    2. Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Antigen for Exchange and then click the following registry subkey:
    3. Double-click the RealtimeProcessCount registry entry, and then type the value that you want to use in the Value box.

For Realtime scanning, the maximum value that you can use is 4.
    4.

Double-click the InternetProcessCount registry entry, and then type the value that you want to use in the Value box.

For the SMTP scanner, the maximum value that you can use is 10.

Depending on the server load I normally use 2 processes.

    Greetings

    Hi,

do you really need so many realtime scan processes? I would decrease them also to the value of 2.

Were you able to resolve this problem?  I am experiencing the same exact issue and have not found a resolution to the issue.

    Hi Brian,

how much ressources do you have left on your server? When your server has too much load the client can't connect to it. Check the number of Antigen processes and maybe limit them to a lower amount of processes as I've already postet in this thread.

    Greetings
